The Pogues - Love You Till The End
i just want to see you
when you're all alone
i just want to catch you if i can
i just want to be there
when the morning light explodes
on your face it radiates
i can't escape
i love you till the end
i just want to tell you nothing
you don't want to hear
all i want is for you to say
why don't you just take me
where i've never been before
i know you want to hear me
catch my breath
i love you till the end
i just want to be there
when were caught in the rain

Chatter - I decided to browse The Korea Times online site today and clicked on a link called the "Dokdo Special." You can see that here.
These are a list of the articles I saw:
Vlog - Someone playing Pachelbel on the Kayageum (a traditional Korean instrument). The first video is Funtwo's well known rendition of Cannon Rock:

Chatter - Breaking news - and good news at that - for South Korea! It appears that the U.S. Board on Geographic Names has reinstated South Korea's sovereignty over the Dokdo islets:
A U.S. government naming agency has reversed its decision over the sovereignty of the remote South Korean islets of Dokdo, redefining the islets as South Korean one week after having recategorized them as being of "undesignated sovereignty" to reflec…

Vlog - Thank you, Kenneth Eng, for being an embarrassment to your race. As an Asian American, I can't help but to feel ashamed that this guy made it into the limelight - albeit briefly.

(I submitted this article to instablogs on July 14)
Chatter - July 11, 2008: A South Korean tourist was fatally shot this past Friday after wandering into a restricted area of the Kumgangsan Mountains tourism zone in North Korea. This is currently the top story in South Korea. The tourist, a 53 year old housewife named Park Wang-ja, was shot in the chest and leg after crossing through a wire fence, which was labeled with warnings that the area was off limits. The details of her death are sketch… Continue
A few weeks ago I read in Groove Magzine an article about fun outdoor things to do. One of them referred to a mountain called Gwanaksan.
A week or so later I went over there and walked about halfway up it. There's several trails. I took the one which followed a stream.
It was very pretty so I went slow and took lots of pictures which can be seen (along with a few thousand others at www.dropshots.com/seoulsalsero).
I really enjoyed it though and I'd like to go back and actually take the main r… Continue

My Words - There's only one way to dispel the growing frustration most Americans, foreigners and Koreans are feeling at the moment - through laughter at the absurdity of our situation.
Are you familiar with Chuck Norris jokes? Make a sarcastic joke stating absurd statistical, scientific, or historic evidence pertaining to American Beef and hilarity ensues. My friend John and I cooked some up to help you guys get started:
Mario Kart Wii will be released in Korea minus some features contained… Continue
Talk - U.S. Ambassador Alexander Vershbow added fuel to the fire last week with some comments he made about South Korea's looming plans to break an international trade agreement with the USA. He expressed dismay with the government's decision to halt beef imports and was quoted as saying, "We hope Koreans will begin to learn more about the science and about the facts of American beef."
The UDP leader, Sohn Hak-kyu fired back by stating, "The ambassador ha… Continue

My Words - Today, in Post Office class, some of our students decided to write letters President Lee Myung-bak and Bush. I have preserved the integrity of the two letters and they read exactly as they are written:

Oh, well, I was sleeping like a baby an hour ago.
And now I'm wide awake.
Why?
Because the fire alarm went off and it was 00:40!
It was loud (of course, it is the FIRE ALARM) enough to wake 'Salda the baby' up - I tried to call the security guard, but it didn't work.
So, I went out of my room in my pink striped pj, and in the hallway, I could see the people living on my floor.
I sniffed - but no smell of fire. I asked an ajumma what was the matter, and she told me she had no idea either but it n… Continue
I just finished reading "secret" written by Rhonda Byrne. There has been a hype of it and everybody I know was reading it or at least talking about that book. So I took it up and within a day, I mindlessly gulped it down. I haven't done bookreivews since my school years. So this is an attempt of book review but in a shaky form.
Anyway, reading a book is one thing and writing on it from your point of view is another because books can affect and touch everyone in a different way. "Secret" touched… Continue

Hey, it isn't always easy to talk to foreigners. It isn't just a barrier of langauge hindering the communication and causing breakdowns. I guess there are more than differences of appearances. Koreans feel somewhat inferior and akward in the presence of westerners while they feel snub and proud when the other Asians are nearby esp. those from less priviledged countries. I might be biased in thinking so but it somehow bothers me very much. I am just trying to be nice to people then again I am not… Continue

As Tristan and many other people in the history said and wrote already, LIFE IS SHORT.
Now that reminds me of Tolstoi.
Have you ever read "The Three Questions", one of his works?
In the story, the prota wanted to know the answer for the following three questions.
When is the most important time in one's life?
Who is the most important person in the world?
What is the most important thing in the world?
You know, today, I lost very important one in my life.
I was too obsessive and possessive ab… Continue

It's raining outside and I want to drink some beer - but I am a loner - maybe too lazy.
I was in the rain this evening and it's been quite a long time that I do so.
In the rain, I wished I could be a doll of salt or sugar - whatever - so that I can melt down and disappear in this world.

Nowadays, I'm doing many 'unusual' things for me - such as learning hip hop dancing, singing aloud when I'm alone, meeting new people - off line...(that's what I did just today.)
You know what, I was really afraid -_-;;; (believe or not) and excited at the same time..
When I got off the subway at Hongdae station, I really didn't know what to do -
I took a look around and there were so many people, which I haven't seen for a long time...
Anyways, I have to say that I was really unusual today… Continue

For the most part, everyone that goes abroad has some specific purpose deeper than what it may seem like on the surface. People don't go on extended excursions or vacations just because they want to "get away from the stresses of the everyday grind".. Hell, I can do that at my house by simply unplugging my phone, computer, and turning my handi phone off - and it's a lot easier on my bank account for sure. In fact, I have a pretty good feeling most people simply want to go to a place where they g… Continue

Sometimes, I forget what I have to do and just be lazy.
Today was the day.
I had to go to the department store to find my shoes back, I 'had to' read some books, I had to make some props for my class tomorrow, but I didn't do any of them.
I stayed home all day long, except for an hour - when I went out for a nice walk.
(The cherry blossoms were awesome...looking at them made me kinda calm and feel alive. )
Ahhhhhh.... I feel so lost.
What is wrong with me?
Maybe, just because it is spring. Continue
My Words - I've never experienced growing out my hair before. In fact, I used to give myself a buzz cut every Saturday because it had grown too long; something I became quite adept at doing alone. I want to let my hair grow really long - maybe midway down my back. The latest lesson I've learned is that you should probably get the ends trimmed at least once every three months. Split ends are something you probably can't prevent for too long. If you don't w… Continue

I feel that if you always tell the truth - it is an easy thing to remember.
You do not have to remember what little white lie you told to whom. Just tell it like it is and people will like you or not for whom you are. There is no control over it. Just be your self and every thing will fall into place.
If people do not like you then the HELL with them. I prefer that people like me or not for who I am. Take it or leave it. If someone does not like you then forget about it. If they do not like you… Continue
My Words -I'm sitting here now, wasting time. I'm almost finished packing. Destination: Sabah, Eash Malaysia. I love this place. Beautiful beaches, rainforests, mountains and people. In some ways it's comparable to Thailand, minus the excessive amount of foreigners. It's everything good rolled up in one. I look at it as a continuation of the break I took last week going to Busan, South Korea. I just need to get away from Korea.

One of the (few) things I treasure about the current academy I work at is the amount of adult classes I get to teach. Don't misunderstand - I really really love children, and teaching them can be a blast. However, after about 3 hours or so of dealing with ill-behaviour, temper tantrums, and accidently putting my hands in the "occasional" booger, it's pretty nice to get to associate with people at your own maturity level. It also makes for really comic relief at times, and today is an especially… Continue

Talk - For those of you that know me well, it's no secret that I absolutely adore Japanese street fashion. So, it comes as no surprise that today I was ecstatic to discover Helsinki Street Fashion which is comparable, in many respects, to what you can find on the streets of Harajuku, Shibuya, Shinjuku and Ginza, to name a few. Helsinki, the capital of Finland, is apparently populated by a lot of stylish people.
